From the artist's point of view, there's just certain aspects from these conventions that could be deemed as biased, unfair or maybe we felt like these events could be so much better if the voices of attendees were listened to, hence the creation of Taroball Conventions including:
- Affordable pricing for both attendees and vendors
- Improvement through attendee feedback
- Inclusivity from artists of all caliber
- Entertainment from locals to provide exposure and experience
- Usage of feedback to improve
Taroball Con 2025
Taroball Con will be taking place at the Novotel Southampton on Sunday 19th October. You can stay updated with more information on our social media or Discord.
By purchasing tickets through Kickstarter, you can help us fund the venue space early and allow us to provide better quality in both aesthetics for the venue and merchandise.
Ticket Pricing
Thinking of ways to get the audience to interact with our artists more, we intend on introducing a new concept to 2025: our Taroball Tokens. With each entry ticket to our convention, a token will be included. Each token will be worth £5 and you can use these to spend at the artist tables and get your money's worth. This will encourage our guests to support their fellow local artists.
Applications
The deadlines are as follows:
- Artist applications: 31st August 2025
- Performance auditions: 21st September 2025
We’re looking for a variety of artists and performances this year so anything unique, wacky or wild you’re welcome to include in your applications.
Performances can be anything from stand up comedy, singing, acting or dancing. Please be aware that we’re looking to expand variety so as much as we’d love for everyone to be able to perform, we’d like to ensure our event is enjoyable for everyone.
Cosplay rules
Please be advised that there will be checks upon entering the event. If there’s too many attendees and props are excessive in size, you will be instructed to keep it at the entrance.
- No sharp props
- No metallic weapons
- No loaded bb / airsoft guns with batteries
- Obviously no nudity
We try not to be as strict being a smaller event, however, if parts of cosplay are deemed unsafe or too inappropriate, you may not be allowed into the venue. Remember that cosplay is not consent - always ask for permission before taking photos and be aware of peoples’ personal space.
